Welcome to the 2019 Linyi International Conference on Ultra-high Sensitivity PET and Neuroimaging, which will be held from Oct.11 to 13, 2019 in Linyi, China.

For many years, Positron Emission Tomography (PET), as a tool for direct molecular imaging, has played an important role in tumor, cardiovascular, nervous system imaging, and drug development. However, the imaging speed of PET has been in the order of minutes, which limits the application of PET in brain science. For years, brain scientists around the world have relied more on fMRI than on PET for functional brain imaging. Whereas, the rapid biochemical metabolism, nervous transporter transduction, psychiatry abnormality of the brain still cannot be shown satisfied under the former traditional modality. With the emergence of ultra-high sensitivity PET technology, PET imaging has entered the era of 4-dimensional imaging. New PET devices will have a sensitivity of more than 20% in the whole FOV, and increase the imaging speed of PET by tens of times, so that the imaging time of PET can be reduced from minute level to second level (1second/frame).

The improvement of PET imaging speed has brought about a series of new topics, including image reconstruction, accurate quantification, data analysis, the development of new tracer, and how to apply the second-order PET imaging to brain science research.    

This meeting will focus on the above issues, hope to produce valuable results for PET technology and its application in brain science through the participation and discussion of outstanding scientists from all over the world.
