Geoscience researchers are now facing interdisciplinary and cross-scale problems in different scenarios like rock and soil structure stability in deep sea, utilization of unconventional deep underground resources, underground nuclear waste disposal, CO2 geological utilization and storage, urban solid waste harmless disposal, deep tunnel excavation, urban underground space development and utilization, etc. To effectively tackle the interdisciplinary and cross-scale problems that traditional geoscience research cannot solve, it is necessary to promote communications among researchers working in interfacing areas of geoscience, physics and chemistry, so as to combine research of geoscience with advancements of physics and chemistry research. To achieve that goal, we plan to host “International Young Scholars Forum on Physics and Chemistry in Geomaterials” in Wuhan, China from April 26-28, 2019.

This international forum aims to provide a platform for experts and young scholars all over the world to explore the interfaces between geoscience and other subjects, and to promote collaboration among researchers in different fields. This forum also provides an opportunity for young attendees to meet and communicate with well-known scientists in related fields at home and abroad.
