With the approval of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China, the International Conference on Waste Management and Technology (ICWMT) initiated by Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific has been held for 7 times since 2005. It is an important international platform for specialists and officials to discuss scientific problems, exchange experiences, and look for innovative solutions. The ICWMT attracts a great number of participants from governments, research institutions, universities and industries annually. ICWMT 7 attracted more than 450 delegates from over 35 countries.

On this basis, the ICWMT8 will be held in Shanghai on October 23-25, 2013. In line with the spirit of "Maximize Recycling of Waste, Protect the Environment, Promote the Construction of Ecological Civilization", the theme of ICWMT8 is “Towards Ecological Civilization”. And some most famous experts and government officials will be invited to give keynote speeches on the hot issues of solid waste, valuable chances for all the participants to present and communicate ideas are provided. Free technical field trip to e-waste and hazardous waste treatment will be arranged.

Important Dates

Requirements and Award-winning of Papers

A one-page abstract (in English) with not more than 300 words should be submitted through the website http://2013.icwmt.org before June 1, 2013.

Please submit the full-text paper before August 1, 2013 after you receive the confirmation for your abstract to ICWMT 8. For one delegate, not more than two papers can be allowed to be submitted at the ICWMT 8.

All the accepted papers will be formally published by Trans Tech Publications and submitted for EI (Engineering Index) and CPCI (ISTP) index. The excellent papers will be published in a special issue of SCI journal after peer review.

The session will be of great variety and interactivity which provides an opportunity for the industry and enterprises to promote technology exchange.

Technical Field Trip: Free Technical field trip will be arranged.

Language: English is the working language of the ICWMT 8. Simultaneous interpretation in English and Chinese will be offered at the report hall.
