Meeting venue

The 8^th International Conference on Waste Management and Technology will be held in The Ramada Plaza Pudong Shanghai, at 8:30 a.m. on 23^th October 2013. The conference will continue for three days to 25^th October. Accommodation should be booked in advance in case to avoid inconvenience.

Location and telephone

The Ramada Plaza Pudong Shanghai (in Chinese: 上海浦东华美达大酒店) is situated in 18 Xin Jingqiao Road (Xin Jinqiao Lu), China, the heart of Jinqiao Export Processing Zone, +86- 21-50554666.

Transit Direction

For your convenience, we recommend to take a taxi. The estimated value from the Hongqiao International Airport to Meeting Venue is around US$ 23 (CNY140), from Pudong International Airport is about US$ 21 (CNY130). You need to pay it in RMB. The taxi drivers do not accept other currencies.

Registration

Participants are suggested to pre-register on line with https://www.allconfs.org/meeting/join_en.asp?id=1945 to facilitate attendance, or fill in the registration form and send it to icwmt@tsinghua.edu.cn, or fax to 86-10-62772048.

The registration will begin at 17:00 p.m. on October 21^st and we suggest you to register as early as possible to avoid long time waiting. Bring your student’s identity card if you are student. Every participant should hang the lanyard with the badge after registration during the whole conference period avoiding inconvenient.

Submit Registration Fee Onsite

For the participants who need to submit registration fee, please prepare cash and submit during onsite registration.

Registration Fee Standard

Invoice

You can get your invoice if you submit registration fee before October 15, 2013 by bringing the remittance slip, or receipt if you submit registration fee onsite at the registration office during the Coffee Break or end-of-the meeting in the afternoon during the conference. Get the invoice or receipt on time in case to avoid inconvenience.

Technical visit

The participants who have the willing to join the technical visit please assemble at the lobby of The Ramada Plaza Pudong Shanghai, at 13:00 p.m. on 22^nd October 2013.

Conference Language

The Conference Plenary Session language is English, simultaneous interpretation will be arranged at the Conference Plenary Session on 23^rd Oct, and 25^th Oct, you can get the receiving equipment with valid ID at the conference entrance if needed. The working language of Branch Session 1 and 2 on 24^th Oct, “Basel Forum in Asia-Pacific Region on Promotion of Basel Convention Implementation” is English only. The language of “Workshop on hazardous waste disposal facilities construction, accreditation and operation”, “Workshop on E-waste treatment technology” and “Symposium on waste household appliances and electronic equipment pollution control technology policy revision” on 24^th Oct is Chinese only. The language of “Regional Trade Symposium on Promotion of Technical Assistance and Technology Transfer in Asia and the Pacific” is English and Chinese interpretation. Delegates are welcome to attend all the meetings.

Reception Dinner/Lunch

We would like to invite you to the Reception Dinner 18:00-20:00 p.m on 23th October 2013. The place is to be determined and announced during the conference.

During 23th to 25th October 2013, we offer a buffet for lunch at The Ramada Plaza Pudong, and you can go there by showing meal tickets which we will send to you in the name tag.

Information about Shanghai

October is the late autumn, the temperature is about 14 centigrade (min) to 20 centigrade (max).

Electricity

The power supply in China is mainly 220V/60Hz. The outlet has two or three holes indicated in the following photos. If you want to buy one in China, you can do so at a duty free shop at the airport.

Food

Chinese are famous for their cuisine. Chopsticks are the main table utensils in China. There are many kinds of food in China. They're Cantonese food, Sichuan food, Shanghai food, Hunan food and so on. Generally speaking, Cantonese food is a bit light, Sichuan food is very hot, Shanghai food is rather oily, and Hunan dishes are very spicy, having a strong and hot taste. Mapo Beancurd, steamed fish sweet and sour pork ribs, spring roll and many Chinese dishes are very delicious.
