On behalf of the Asia Pacific Society for Medical Mycology (APSMM), Mycological Society of China (MSC), and Chinese Society for Microbiology (CSM), we are delighted to invite you to attend the 7th APSMM Congress, which will be held from Friday 22 November to Sunday 24 November 2019 in Guangzhou, China.
The APSMM was established in 1997, and the congress is held every three years to promote professional and social exchanges among the Asia Pacific colleagues. The first APSMM congress was successfully held in Bali, Indonesia. The following congresses were the 2nd in Kunming, China, the 3rd in Bangkok, Thailand, the 4th in Seoul, Korea, the 5th in Chengdu, China, and the 6th in Bali, Indonesia in 2016. APSMM congress has become a symbol of medical mycology event in the Asia Pacific region, providing a communication platform for the international community to exchange knowledge and deepen friendship!
The theme of APSMM 2019 is “The Hotspot of Fungal Infection in Asia Pacific Region”. There are 40 countries in Asia Pacific, which having diverse nature and economy, as well as local characteristics in medical mycology. For example,Talaromyces (Penicillium) marneffei is an important pathogenic thermally dimorphic fungus causing systemic mycosis in Southeast Asia; Candida auris, a multidrug-resistant yeast that causes invasive infections, was first described in Japan, and has since been reported from different countries; epidemiology and fungal species distribution of superficial mycoses has been changed, especially the emerging of resistant dermatophytes, etc. This congress will provide the latest research and developments in the hotspot of medical mycology, including fundamental research, drug discovery case presentation, clinical diagnosis and treatment, and application of advanced technology etc. There are also various active and interactive session formats, such as plenary, symposium, youth forum, E-poster oral presentation, and poster presentation etc, which is geared toward participants with different levels of experience and different positions.
APSMM 2019 offers an opportunity to share your experience, increase your knowledge, and foster your collaboration at an international level.
