This is a special invitation for you all to the 6^th Asian NIR Symposium (ANS 2018) under Asian NIR Consortium (ANC), which will be held during June 21 - June 24, 2018 in Kunming, China.

Asia consists of the tertiary pole in NIR community in the world as indicated in the fact that international conferences under International Council of NIR Spectroscopy (ICNIRS) were held in Japan (2^nd, 1989), Korea (10^th, 2001) and Thailand (14^th, 2009) in the past and will be held in China (20^th, 2021) in the future.

The ANC was established as a consensus among participants from China, Japan, Korea and Thailand when Japan-Korea Joint Symposium on NIR Spectroscopy was held in Seoul, Korea in 2006. One of specific missions of the consortium is to promote transferring of knowledge and know-how on NIR Spectroscopy among Asiancountries and to arrange the Asian NIR Symposium (ANS) every two years.

We believe that the symposium will make a great contribution to strengthen a network for those who are involved in NIR Spectroscopy in the region.

Kunming city in which the ANS 2018 will be held is a beautiful city in Yunnan Province, China.

With the fast developments in material, instruments, big data and chemometrics, near infrared spectral analytical technology and its applications in various areas have made tremendous progress, especially in China. Excellent young NIR scientists, potential NIR companies and NIR application models have been emerging extensively in China. The most exciting news for Chinese society of Near Infrared Spectroscopy is that China won the bid of holding of the twentieth ICNIR(2021). The sixth Asian NIR Symposium(ANS2018) and The eighth Chinese NIR Symposium(CCNIRS2018)  will be held at beautiful Kun Ming City in 2018. On behalf of Chinese Council of Near Infrared Spectroscopy, I warmly welcome you all at Kun Ming for presenting your creative scientific fruits, new instruments, new techniques and successful experience in applications.
