We would like to invite you to participate in the 11th ICOSCM conference, which will be hosted by Henan University from the 16th to the 19th of July 2017. The conference is organized in conjunction with Association of Supply Chain and Operations Management (ASCOM) and China-Europe International Business School. The main theme of the ICOSCM 2017 conference is “Entrepreneurial Supply Chains for Resource Efficiency and Sustainable Competitiveness”.
The age of opportunity is giving way to the age of austerity. As global competition continues to increase, it is becoming increasingly difficult for firms to create and sustain competitive advantage. In this new and unpredictable age, the focus of competition has shifted from independent firms to supply chains. There is a growing realization that creating an entrepreneurial supply chain enables firms to develop greater responsiveness and improve resource efficiency, and consequently, obtain sustainable competitive advantage.
Entrepreneurship has long been recognized as a vital force driving innovation. Entrepreneurial traits such as tolerance to risk, innovativeness and proactiveness allow firms to respond to market opportunities by developing operations and supply chain capabilities to meet rapidly changing needs. At a supply chain level, entrepreneurial orientation can improve efficiency of knowledge acquisition to develop quality and efficiency oriented strategies. However, the application of entrepreneurial orientation in the supply chain management domain is in a nascent stage. From a practical perspective, there has been little guidance provided to managers about how these entrepreneurial traits can be developed to improve operations and supply chain efficiency. To address these issues, this conference invites original submissions focusing on the theme of the conference.
This conference will include a number of keynote speeches from leading academics and executives (to be confirmed), and practitioner-oriented roundtable discussions on entrepreneurial supply chains as well.
Although the theme provides a special focus for the conference, we welcome papers addressing a variety of operations and supply chain management topics:

About Kaifeng
Formerly named “Bianliang” and “Bianjing”, Kaifeng is one of the major eight ancient capitals in China. It’s also called the “capital city of seven dynasties”. Located in the east of China’s Henan Province, the ancient city of Kaifeng is among the first batch of state-level historical and cultural cities publicized by the Chinese government. The heyday of Kaifeng was in the Song Dynasty. In the 168 years of the reign of the Northern Song Dynasty, Kaifeng was the country’s political, economic and cultural center as well as the richest city. It was also one of the most flourishing cities in the world at that time.
There are many tourist attractions around Kaifeng, such as Shaolin Temple, Longmen Grottoes, and Millennium City Park of Kaifeng.
Shaolin Temple
Shaolin Temple, located in the beautiful Songshan Mountain, is known as “the Home of Kongfu” and “the Holy land of Buddhism”. Shaolin Temple is probably the most famous temple in China because of its long history and its important role in Chinese Buddhism.
Longmen Grottoes
Longmen Grottoes, located in the south of Luoyang, is regarded as one of the three most famous treasure houses of stone inscriptions in China. There are lots of historical materials concerning art, music, religion, calligraphy, medicine, costume, and architecture stored in the caves.
Millennium City Park of Kaifeng
Millennium City Park is located in the northwest of Kaifeng. The built area consists of several architectural complexes which are re-creations based on the famous twelfth century painting by Zhang Zeduan of “The Qingming Festival by the Riverside”.
