会议背景介绍：

In the current age of intense global competition, companies continuously seek innovative ways to create differentiation, cut cost and increase profits through the delivery of highly competitive products, solutions, and services. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is such an emerging technology with great potentials enabling real time information visibility via wireless object identification, and object track and trace. Furthermore, RFID technology is expected to become a critical and ubiquitous infrastructure enabling technology, along with unprecedented explosion in sensor and wireless networking technologies to support seamless dynamically created communication and interconnections. Plentiful real world deployment towards developing emerging business opportunities via adopting RFID technologies demonstrates the practical use of RFID driving for business value through business operation and service innovations. It is evident through the support of agile and responsive business planning and business decisions by enabling the use of timely information from business participants' information systems, leading to, for example, shorter lead times, reduced working capital needs, and closer customer relationships.

征文范围及要求：

This workshop will provide a prestigious forum bringing together both researchers and practitioners to exchange views on all aspects of RFID, from technologies to business case studies. The workshop is intended to foster the dissemination of state-of-the-art research and development in advances of RFID deployment in various public and industry sectors. The workshop welcomes paper submissions regarding RFID related innovative technologies, innovative use of RFID technologies, and innovative applications and services related to RFID. Topics are listed as, but not limited to, follows,

RFID technologies
RFID hardware, infrastructure, and software (RFID tag and reader design and implementation, RFID middleware, RFID networks, RFID system architecture and implementation, RFID service platforms, RFID information systems, etc)
RFID security and privacy protection
RFID data and stream management
RFID sensor and internetworking technologies
RFID ranging, localization

RFID applications and application enablement
RFID applications in various public and industry sectors (e.g. logistics, SCM, library, transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, etc.)
RFID application enablement (RFID enablement for warehouse, retail stores, service industry, etc.)

RFID deployment cases
RFID experience sharing
RFID project and case studies
RFID deployment concerns
RFID decision support tools

RFID technology adoption and evaluation
RFID benchmarking and testing
RFID technology evaluation
RFID technology adoption study

Papers must be submitted electronically (address will be available later). The format of submitted papers should follow the guidelines for the IEEE conference proceedings, limited to 6 pages. All papers will be peer reviewed by at least three reviewers. Accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings of the ICEBE 2008 by the IEEE CS Press. At least one of the authors of each accepted paper must register as a full participant of the workshop to have the paper published in the proceedings. Accepted papers will be further invited with revision for publication in major international journals including ISF (SCI-E, approved), and a few other ACM and IEEE transactions (pending)
