We are delighted to announce the call for papers for our 2017 International PhD Forum on Linguistics and Applied Linguistics to be held May 6-7 2017 by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) in the city of Guangzhou, China.

The meeting, organized by the Center for Linguistics and Applied Linguistics (CLAL), will be held at north campus of GDUFS, situated right at the foot of Baiyun Mountain, a major tourist attraction and a Guangzhou landmark. For one and a half days we will enjoy keynote talks ranging from second language learning through language and communication and Chinese sentence processing to developing Chinese standards of English, together with mini-talks by PhD candidates. There will be plenty of opportunities for socializing, sightseeing, and, of course, many lively discussions about linguistics and applied linguistics.

We also have Excellence scholarships to honor excellent presentations by student speakers, who made significant contributions to our understanding of linguistics. We will have six awardees, each of whom will receive an honorarium based on internal ratings from expert committee.

We look forward to seeing you in Guangzhou!
