- Pro. Jin-Wei Liang
Professor Jin-Wei Liang received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University on 1996. Before that he received his M.S. and B.S. degrees, both in mechanical engineering, from NTUST, Taipei Taiwan on 1988 and 1985, respectively. Dr. Liang joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Ming Chi University of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan since 1985. He is currently a professor, and also serves as the Dean of College of Engineering. Professor Liang has won Outstanding Research and Teaching Awards from Ming Chi University of Technology. He is also the recipient of Outstanding Teacher Award from the Association of Private Universities and Colleges of Technology, Taiwan. He is currently a member of academic board of the Society of Sound and Vibration, Taiwan. As a dean of college of engineering, he leads several research teams with members from different departments. These research teams have obtained more than 50-million New Taiwan Dollars research grants from Taiwan government in the past few years. His research interests are in dynamics, vibration and control, with current activities in damping identification on vibration systems, intelligent and model-based control of piezoelectric-actuated system, active vibration isolation using pneumatic system. Some of his research results on damping identification method were adopted by European scientists to develop standard damping identification algorithms for European Union.
His major research interests are time-domain numerical solvers for Maxwell’s equations, antenna design and development, wave propagation in complex media, and microwave ferrite devices.
