About the speaker
Professor Liu Jianda received his B.A. in English Language and Literature from Jiangxi Normal University in 1987, M.A. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics in 1994 from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Ph.D. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from City University of Hong Kong in 2004.
He has been full professor of English since 2006 and doctoral supervisor since 2007. His main research interests include language testing and interlanguage pragmatics acquisition. He has been principal investigator of a number of national or provincial research project, author of Measuring Interlanguage Pragmatic Knowledge of EFL Learners (Peter Lang, 2008) a number of refereed papers in nationally and internationally recognized journals, and recipient of international or provincial awards for excellence in research.
Professor Liu has been reviewer of such international journals as Applied Linguistics, Language Learning, Language Testing, and Pragmatics and Language Learning.
He has been Vice President of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies since 2008.
