About the CEW

The Chinese-European Workshop (CEW) on Functional Pavement was founded to promote activities relating to experimental characterization, advanced analysis, material development and production, design and construction of functional pavements. The workshop will provide researchers, practitioners and administrators a unique and rewarding opportunity to present and forward new emerging ideas. The previous six workshops were successfully hosted by:

Southeast University, China, 2010
Harbin Institute of Technology, China, 2012
RWTH Aachen University, Germany, 2014
Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, 2016
Changsha University of Science and Technology, China, 2018
Southeast University, China, 2020

Furthermore, to strengthen the workshop as a platform for scientific exchange, creating scientific communities of different research groups with complementary activities that work in the broader field of functional pavement, the 7th CEW will be held in Birmingham, co-hosted by Aston University and The University of Nottingham. It aims to create an international platform for exchanging innovative ideas on functional pavement and sharing the recent developments, and to bridge the gap between functional and structure requirements of pavements.
