On May 25-26, 2018, the 1st International Conference on MXenes for Energy Application was successfully held in Jilin University. More than 50 experts, scholars and over 100 teachers and students from global universities and research institutions attended the conference.

  The president of the conference, Professor Yury Gogotsi, introduced the development history of MXenes and its important role in energy storage and conversion, and elaborated the challenges nowadays as well as the significance of this conference.

  The conference was organized by the Key Laboratory of Physics and Technology for Advanced Batteries, Jilin University. A number of international top scholars in the field of two-dimensional material for energy storage at home and abroad were invited, including Professor Patrice Simon from the Third University of Toulouse, France, Professor Wataru Sugimoto from Shinshu University, Professor Michel Barsoum from Drexel University, and Professor Yoshiyuki Kawazoe from Tohoku University of Japan, Professor Qiu Jieshan from Dalian University of Technology, Professor Wen Wencai from the Institute of Metals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Wang Haihui from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor Sun Zhimei from Xiamen University, etc. The experts made 3 special invited reports, 21 invited reports and 13 oral reports on the international frontier progress, the latest research results and development trends, and conducted academic exchanges by posters. The discussion strengthened exchange and cooperation between scholars at home and abroad in materials, chemistry, physics, energy and other related fields, playing an important role in promoting the development of the global two-dimensional energy storage materials industry.
