Welcome to Environmental Chemistry Letters, a prestigious scientific journal that bridges the gap between chemistry and the environment. Our mission is to timely publish innovative research articles, reviews, and critical perspectives on the chemistry of natural and anthropogenic systems, with special focus on environmental sustainability and protection.

- Aquatic chemistry: biogeochemical cycles of nutrients, trace metals, and organic matter in rivers, lakes, and oceans; contamination and remediation of water resources; impacts of climate change and land use on water quality.
- Soil chemistry: fate and transport of contaminants in soils and sediments; transformations of natural and anthropogenic organic matter; relations between soil chemistry and ecosystem functions.
- Analytical chemistry: development and application of novel analytical methods for environmental monitoring and characterization; speciation analysis and chemical imaging; field and laboratory measurements.
- Environmental nanotechnology: synthesis and characterization of engineered nanomaterials for environmental applications; fate and impacts of nanomaterials in natural and engineered systems.
- Environmental sustainability: life-cycle assessment, eco-design, and circular economy approaches to reduce the environmental impacts of industrial processes, products, and services.
